For many psychotherapists, building and marketing a private practice is one of the greatest challenges of clinical practice. Ethical, clinical, and personal concerns about putting one’s identity “out there” on the internet are common barriers, as well as discomfort with technology and a genuine lack of understanding of how the internet works and how it can be used thoughtfully and with integrity.
My consultation practice utilizes my own experience of building a thriving fee-for-service practice, primarily based on web referrals. I work with fellow psychotherapists and other healing professionals to create and optimize websites that genuinely reflect their clinical style and values and that are also technologically savvy enough to generate web traffic from potential clients.
Marketing consultation sessions usually focus on one or more of the following areas:
-Practice Building; identifying your personal and clinical strengths and making a practical and realistic plan to use those strengths to build and market your practice.
-Website Building; identifying the technological avenue most suitable to your comfort level for creating a website, and organizing the website-creation process into tangible and realistic steps.
-Optimization Consultation; learning how to tweak your website content, technology and structure so that search engines find you easily and rank you highly, and how to write website content that particulrly reflects and addresses the psychological needs of the clients you most want to see.
-Website Content; learning how to use your own clinical identity and passion to write website content that reflects your practice both authentically and ethically.
Marketing consultations are available in person at your office or home, or via phone or email. My fee for these services is $150 an hour. I offer a 10% discount to former marketing workshops students and to interns. To learn more or to schedule a consultation please contact me at 510-658-3783.
I also offer clinical supervision and consultation to psychotherapists who are seeking support around my areas of specialty, including sexual abuse, early childhood trauma, working with LGBT clients and parenting.
